About Circus Minimus

Kevin Maile O’Keefe has traveled the world since 1985 to both teach and study circus, theater and yoga. As the artistic director of Circus Minimus he has directed residencies and performances that have touched the lives of over 100,000 children and their families. In 2001 he was honored an Excellence in Education award from the International Jugglers Association. He received an advanced Hatha yoga certification in 1991 from the Integral Yoga Institute. In 2008, in honor of many years of teaching, Mayor Matthew Ryan of Binghamton, NY declared the first two weeks of August to be “Circus Minimus Days”. For five years Kevin was an instructor at the Big Apple Circus School in Harlem, New York. He is the founder and past president of the American Youth Circus Organization. As a NYC-based Equity and SAG actor Kevin performed on stage, screen and television. Nationally he is recognized in his commercials for Pepsi, ATT, McDonalds, Jeep, Head and Shoulders and more. For many years Kevin instructed at the Big Apple Circus and Sarah Lawrence College. From a palace in India, to the highlands of the Andes, to a theater inside a volcano in the Hawaiian islands his One-Man Circus in-a- Suitcase show speaks in the international language of laughter. With his wife Erin Maile he co-founded the practice and community of CircusYoga.
