The Circus Kids Create

Dream it.

Since 1991, thousands of kids have run away to join the circus making The Circus Kids Create our most popular program under the Circus Minimus tent. In this artist-in-residence program a circus professional collaborates with 30-500 students, teachers, parents and artists to create a community-based circus. The Circus Kids Create is usually sponsored by local non-profit organizations such as schools, museums, theaters or community centers. The residency culminates with a Big Show. We have trained and maintain a core of Ringmasters who are dedicated educators and circus artists. We go anywhere on this earth and work cooperatively with any group. Watch the videos below to see us in action!

For each child, “a moment in the sun.”

  • “Kevin, is the kind of director who can see the valuable in every child he meets, and is able to pull that unique beauty out of every child he works with. Phil blossomed through his circus experience. I have seen Kevin’s rapport with his young charges work that small miracle over and over again. The circus performance itself is always creative, magical, lovely to look at, and full of humor. Thank you, Kevin, for many happy summers with the circus!”

    –Susan Hurwitz, parent, Vestal, NY

  • “The entire process as well as the show was a delight. We watched the miracle occur from the rough run through in the afternoon to the final performance full of accomplishment and joy.”

–Hyla Crane, Director of Education, Stepping Stones Museum, Norwalk, CT

  • “Amazing show, amazing experience for all the kids (including mine!) who were fortunate enough to participate.”

    –Elisabeth Gardner, parent, Putney, VT

  • “I can honestly say this camp changed my son’s life. He discovered the courage to get up on stage.”

    –Joan Spangle, parent, Burlington, VT

  • “Lila and Lucy were just lit up from their Circus Minimus experience. Thank you for everything you did to channel their creativity, energy, and joy into fabulous performances and a lasting sense of special accomplishment. It was especially gratifying to see Lucy blossom under your care–her style onstage was a revelation! We feel so incredibly lucky that our kids can spend time learning from you each year.” –Elizabeth Catlin, parent, Dummerston, VTDescription goes here
